Itinerary

The following is the itinerary for the MBCC Senior Choir's 2002 United Kingdom Tour, 26 June to 14 July 2002. As we traveled, I added links to pages of an online journal describing each day's adventures. Wednesday & Thursday, 26 & 27 June: Fly from Los Angeles to London Heathrow on Virgin Atlantic Flight #8, visit Windsor Castle, then travel to Oxford. (The Holt Hotel, phone 011 44 (0) 1869 340 259, fax 011 44 (0) 1869 340 865)

Friday, 28 June: Tour and explore Oxford, with an informal afternoon concert at Christ Church Cathedral, St. Aldates.

Sunday, 30 June: Participate in service at Wesley Methodist Church in Cardiff, then visit St. Fagans Museum of Welsh Life, and in the evening sing with the Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir, a traditional Welsh male chorus.

Monday, 1 July: Free day in Cardiff, concert with Cardiff Ardwyn Singers in the evening at St. Augustine Church in Penarth.

Tuesday, 2 July: Travel through the Wye Valley, and Central and North Wales, to Mold. (Beaufort Park Hotel, phone 011 44 (0) 1352 758 646, fax 011 44 (0) 1352 757 132)

Wednesday, 3 July: Visit Chester and Conwy, and tour Conwy Castle; formal evening concert at the STIWT Theatre in Wrexham.

Friday, 5 July: Explore Dunkeld, then tour St. Andrew's Castle and Cathedral.

Saturday, 6 July: Visit Edinburgh, with informal noon concert at St. Giles Cathedral.

Sunday, 7 July: Tour Dewar's Scotch Whisky Distillery in Aberfeldy, visit Pitlochry, return for evening formal concert in Dunkeld Cathedral.

Tuesday, 9 July: Morning informal concert in York Minster Cathedral, then a day to tour and explore York.

Thursday, 11 July: Full day to tour and explore London.

Friday, 12 July: Visit Canterbury, with a tour of the Canterbury Cathedral and an evening formal concert at St. Mildred's Church.

Saturday, 13 July: An entire day free to explore London.

Sunday, 14 July: Fly from London Heathrow to Los Angeles on Virgin Atlantic Flight #7.
